Do you love to collaborate and help businesses thrive? At Qualis as a Gas Engineer - Installing Team you will be undertaking a range of gas related works to include servicing, breakdown repairs and installations.

This exciting opportunity will be based in Loughton, Essex. You will join us on a full-time basis in return for a salary between £38,000 - £40,000 per annum. Salary will reflect your skills and knowledge.

Your role and responsibilities:

• To undertake all aspects of gas heating installations, gas servicing and breakdowns
• Excellent understanding and diagnostic skills across a range of boiler manufacturers and systems
• Carryout works safely in line with current gas regulations
• Liaison with other trades or subcontractor
• Maintain impress van stock of materials including recording usage on handheld device. This includes using the delivery service and “Pod” assigned to you, to replenish your impressed stock, while minimising travel and downtime. You will also be required to specify and order specialist materials where required to complete task
• Using the handheld device accurately to complete LGSR’s and record required information on job orders
• Ensure standby reports, material orders, vehicle checks are all completed through our systems and in line with our policies
• Achieve relevant productivity and performance targets set on annual basis
• Inform Supervisors of work orders requiring cancelling, follow on works or change in status
• Produce a high level of first fix attendances and on completion of work inspect quality and be satisfied before leaving the customer. You may also be required to supervise apprentices if assigned and monitor the quality of their work
• Ensure company vehicle is only used in accordance with company vehicle policy
• Ensure the safe, effective use of tools and plant ensuring they are regularly maintained and serviced, and your supervisor is notified of any loss or damage
• Understand and abide with current Gas Safety (installation and Use) Regulations 1998, Health & Safety regulations and ensure all work practices are safe
• Carry out risk assessments, reporting bad practice and dangerous occurrences to your supervisor
• Present a positive image of Qualis Management, wearing corporate work wear whilst working
• To deliver quality workmanship within your specific trades and without close supervision
• To undertake flexible working patterns as required to provide effective, customer focussed services
• Demonstrate our governance mechanisms, ensuring appropriate standards of performance, operational effectiveness, probity, safeguarding, risk management, safety, and equality are maintained.

• Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Legislation

Qualifications and experience:

• Current relevant ACS qualifications
• Gas Safe Registered
• Experience in the Gas industry to acquire the skills and techniques of your specialised trade
• Holder of relevant current construction skills certification scheme CSCS site operative card
• Full driving licence as a work van will be provided
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment
• Experience in social housing
• Experience/accreditation in renewable systems an advantage but not essential
• A satisfactory DBS check is required as part of this role
